admin @ 10:08 am

As promised I have new pictures of our room addition project. Our concrete walls are poured the forms have been removed, and our framing will start today. As in all our remodeling projects we here at Rare Remodeling do our best to keep a clean job site, and keep the construction process on schedule. We are right on schedule at this point and hope the weather doesn’t slow down our progress.

Our Claycomo MO, Addition

Well, we now have our footings poured and are setting our wall forms. We hope to pour the concrete for the walls on Wednesday and strip wall forms on Thursday. This would allow for curing for 3 days and allow us at RARE Remodeling to start our framing, waterproofing and drain tile next Monday.

Our New Room Addition in Claycomo, MO

August 8, 2011

Our first task was to get drawings ready for the city to approve. As is sometimes the case, the plot plans from the city were minimal at best, so we measured the lot and the location of the existing structure, and the location and size of the new proposed addition.

Next, we prepared the construction drawings showing the foundation, elevations, building material to be used, roof pitch and tie-in.

We then submitted all plan drawings to the city for approval. Upon approval, we scheduled our excavation. Our excavation came off without a hitch. We then brought in the footing and wall crew; and as is usually the case, they found the sewer line, so we at RARE Construction went over at once and repaired it.

Next is the call out to the city inspector. He looks at the footings for correct depth and width, the correct placement of all steel and rebar per code. Once this passed we were able to pour our footings.

Our next step will be to set up our walls. This step also requires a city inspection prior to actually pouring the walls. We hope to have this accomplished by weeks end; at which time we will be installing drain tile, gravel, and waterproofing of the foundation. Then, after the concrete has cured, we will backfill and do a rough grade.

Next, will be our concrete floor. We once again will have an inspection of all steel used in the floor and once passed, will schedule our pour.

Once the foundation has cured, we will start our framing process. We at RARE Construction will continue to keep you updated as to our progress and as always, pictures of the project will follow.
