Basement Finish in Lee’s Summit Progress 1

Basement Finish in Lee's Summit Progress 1
Sheila @ 5:19 pm

We have sheetrock and painted walls!  Seems like once the sheetrock is installed, with the spaces defined, substantial changes happen quickly.  The trim is being installed.  Last week we designed the custom trimmed column to coordinate with the height of the new sectional going into the space.  This was done with inspiration from a picture provided by the homeowner and a little designer and Superintendent collaboration to create the look.

As with a lot of remodeling projects, we have experienced a little snafu.  Our kitchenette cabinets are going to take longer to get delivered than originally anticipated.  The details as to why are of little importance.  There was nothing we could have done differently.  Currently, we are adjusting our schedule to accommodate our new waiting period.  The clients have been informed and while disappointed, understand we are working hard on their project, being dedicated to a wonderful outcome and beautiful new media area basement.

Our paint colors are from Benjamin Moore: Van Deusen Blue HC-156 and Cinder AF-705.

Enjoy our photos below.

Great Kitchen Update, under $25,000!

Great Kitchen Update, under $25,000!
Rose @ 12:20 pm

Stainless steel appliances and freshened cabinets bring this kitchen up to date.  The freestanding range and over the stove microwave really spoke of the 1990’s in  the otherwise wonderful space. The Clients still loved their frameless, contemporary, birch cabinets, but they were worn and showing their age.

A GE slide in gas range, paired with  a Zephyr Hood replaced the stove and microwave.  The secret to keeping the job cost low was all about craftsmanship. Our lead carpenter, also a highly skilled tile setter, sliced the back splash  to insert a new column of  coordinated 1″ glass and marble tile.  Instant new look!

The timeless, contemporary cabinets had to be altered to make room for the new, built-in microwave and the taller Kitchenaid French door refrigerator.  The refrigerator cabinet was changed on site, and a new cabinet was built at a 16″ depth to receive the w GE Monogram microwave.

The  sink  front was badly damaged, and the other door and drawer fronts were worn at the edges. The doors and drawer fronts were removed and taken back to the shop where they were sanded and  touched up as needed.  Matching the stain allowed the team to stain and finish on sight, the sides of the exposed cabinets on the range wall and the  sides, ends  and  back of the island.

A  stainless steel, Grohe Lady Lux  faucet completed this make over; and  our clients are ready to enjoy their new kitchen for another 15 years.

Basement Finish in Lee's Summit
Sheila @ 5:14 pm

We have just started a great basement finish in Lee’s Summit.

From the pictures below you can see framing is under way.

We are creating several spaces within this area: a cedar closet; a closet for the pets with a dutch door; an unfinished storage room; a 3/4 bath with 42″ neo-angle shower; an exercise room; a kitchen/bar area; and open area for future game table and Murphy bed; and finally, a corner set of built-ins where the TV will be mounted and surround sound installed.

Our client has selected several “current” finishes that will display beautifully in this new family entertainment area including; a reclaimed timer bar top, pewter with graphite glaze base cabinets and a fabulous cobbled stone look tile for the bathroom floor.  Sheetrock begins this week.  I am excited to share the progress with you soon.
